Why should I use Probiotic Cleaning Products?

A clean and healthy home does not need to come at a cost. all our products allow you the very highest standards most are enhanced by addition of safe live bacteria that act as natures crew which continue degrade dirt grease long after chemicals have been washed away.

Our Probiotic cleaning involves using cleaning products that contain live bacteria. Our “good” bacteria work to break down organic matter, eliminate harmful bacteria as well as neutralise odours. Put simply, the way it works is that “Good Bacteria” competes with harmful bacteria for the same food sources, effectively reducing the number of harmful bacteria. Homeowners benefit in 3 ways:

  • Enzyme Production: The probiotics produce enzymes that break down dirt and grime into smaller particles, which the good bacteria can then consume
  • Long-Lasting Clean: Because the bacteria are alive, they continue to clean surfaces long after you’ve finished wiping, helping to prevent the buildup of further dirt.
  • Probiotic Cleaning: Is considered more eco-friendly and safer for both humans and pets compared to traditional chemical cleaners since it is natures way of cleaning.

Probiotic cleaners aren’t just milder, they are also safer. Recent studies researching the impact of probiotic-based cleaning on hospital surfaces, concluded that they not only controlled surface microbial contamination but also lowered the occurrence of drug-resistant bacteria and reduce the development of dangerous bacteria.

Lots of healthy and sustainable reasons! Our biological formulas contain healthy bacteria which give a deeper and longer lasting clean. Instead of killing all bacteria in our homes our products harness the power of good bacteria and recreate the most natural way of cleaning.

You won’t find them in supermarkets. To help reduce C02 emissions, we send our products on one journey direct to you. Secondly, we use aluminium bottles that are 100% recyclable and more durable than plastic, so you can refill and reuse time and again. We also don’t prefill our bottles. We deliver them empty with a sachet of concentrate to make packages lighter and further reduce carbon emissions.

Cleaning products that contains a live solution of natural and safe bacteria. When you spray our products onto a surface, the bacteria start to reproduce rapidly.

This allows them to completely break down any dirt, odour or bad bacteria that may be present on there.

Yes, all our products are cruelty free and vegan friendly. We are a British based business and unlike many of the eco cleaning products you will find in the supermarkets, which are actually owned by global pharmaceutical firms that do lots of animal testing.

None of the ingredients we use are ever tested on animals and we never use ingredients in concentrations that exceed (or even come close to) the levels that would endanger aquatic or any other form of life, we avoid the use of palm oils because of the damage palm tree plantations do to the natural environment and use plant originated ingredients from sustainable sources wherever possible. Our products are also suitable for septic tanks
Sensitive skin can be unpredictable. If you have experienced a reaction from using Clean Living we recommend you stop using immediately for one week to allow skin to recover. If you are concerned or skin reactions and symptoms persist we recommend you seek advice from your medical practitioner or dermatologist.
Our products have a beautiful fragrance on their own and have been designed to leave surfaces beautifully clean and shiny. Most essential oils are volatile and therefore should not affect our product performance if added in very small amounts. Adding too much will leave an oily finish on surfaces. If you do add them we recommend that you shake the aluminium container well before every use.
The fragrances in our products are something that we are regularly praised for. Whilst they are man made scents, the ingredients are all plant derived to ensure that they do not affect the environmental standards of our formulas. They are natural, non-toxic, non-irritating and biodegrade within one month; just like the rest of the formula.
To reduce carbon footprint, our long life aluminium bottles are shipped empty along with a concentrate refill sachet. Pour the concentrate into the aluminium bottle and top up with tap water to the point where the bottle neck curves. When you’re running low, simply order another sachet and repeat. We have clients who have been using the same aluminium bottles and simply refilling them for over 3 years now.

Most supermarkets now have designated spots to recycle soft plastics, we’re encouraging our community to use these local options to recycle refill sachets alongside other soft plastics. We recommend saving up all of your soft plastics—such as food packaging, snack wrappers, and any other flexible items—and recycling them all at once during your next supermarket visit. This helps reinforce eco-friendly habits.

To recycle soft plastics, remember to rinse and dry your sachets (a quick drain on your board should do it!). If you’re unsure where your nearest drop-off point is, you can check here: https://www.recyclenow.com/repeat-the-cycle

Thank you for being part of this positive change and for your commitment to a cleaner, greener lifestyle.
Due to the nature of our bacteria based formulations, they’re made from foil. We’re constantly researching into whether our formulas will work inside biodegradable and compostable sachets. You can either return the empty sachets to us by requesting one of our pre-paid self-addressed return envelopes with your order and we’ll make sure they are responsibly disposed of, or you can find a local recycling centre that takes soft plastic.
Our cloths give you a reusable accessory that not only supports our commitment to helping reduce single use waste, but also help you get an excellent finish with our products. We sourced high quality glass microfibre cloths that are tightly weaved and unlike many others, ours lose very little lint.
Wash at 30-40 degrees with no fabric softener in your washing machine. We have customers who have been using our microfibre cloths for many years as they are still as effective as the day they were purchased.
No, definitely not. We guarantee our triggers for up to three months after purchase. You can keep the aluminium bottle. For best results we recommend that the products are used within 12 months Open sachets have an 18 month shelf life. Colour may vary and change over time.
Ingredients

None of the ingredients we use are ever tested on animals and we never use ingredients in concentrations that exceed (or even come close to) the levels that would endanger aquatic or any other form of life, we avoid the use of palm oils because of the damage palm tree plantations do to the natural environment and use plant originated ingredients from sustainable sources wherever possible. Our products are designed with safety and environmental sustainability at the forefront.

We recognise that unless you have a PhD in chemistry it is very difficult to navigate through the maze of online information and clearly distinguish between ingredients which are generally ‘good’ for both us and the wider environment, and those that are ‘bad’. This can lead to the general vilification of certain ingredients for what sometimes seem to be irrational reasons from a scientific perspective. Searching online, can be very easily mean you arrive at convenient generalisations; we should realise that these generalisations can be very misleading and actually wrong. We see it as our job to both select the right ingredients and to help you understand why they’re used.

Our approach to cleaning is to combine modern chemistry with natural ingredients to create a range of high performing products which do not present any threat to our families or the natural environment. Everything we do, from the sourcing of raw materials through to our choice of packaging and the way we ship our products represents a conscious decision to leave the world in a better place than we found it, without compromising on quality (Please see our Product Quality Control and Manufacturing Statement)

We make a wide range of cleaning products so please refer to the product section for the individual ingredients

Our product team has over 35 years of scientific experience in the Bioscience field having authored over 40 papers. Early in our development we made the decision to base our ingredient choices on the most demanding standards. Our GMP compliant fermentation suppliers are certified to ISO13025 and our blending partners are all based in the UK and are certified to ISO9001/14001/13485. All of the microbial species originate from the natural environment and have not been genetically modified in any way. We select, study and use micro-organisms shown to be helpful in removing soil, but also harmless to us and QPS compliant. By using ingredients which satisfy both CEFAS and MARPOL standards we believe our products set the standard for land and water environmental compatibility.

Our approach at Clean Living is to create products based on natural raw materials, which are considered as low environmental hazards. These have been produced under strictly controlled conditions by our suppliers. As a result, Clean Living products are able to meet or exceed the highest environmental standards.

  • Our products comply with the highest international environmental protection standards. Specifically, we are guided by CEFAS and MARPOL which were created to protect marine life and are therefore two of the toughest regulations in the world.
  • All of the microbial species originate from the natural environment and have not been genetically modified in any way. We select, study and use micro-organisms shown to be helpful in removing soil, but also harmless to us.
  • Our Chemical ingredients are all REACH* compliant and sourced from the responsible suppliers. Wherever possible all are in natural form or ‘nature intended’. If they are processed, then they are derived from plant-based materials.
  • All formulations are CLP* compliant
  • Products are manufactured in the UK by chemical blending partners certified to ISO9001 / 14001 / 13485.
