Two ways to maintain Christmas Cheer at home

I’m never quite sure how I feel about Christmas, but I know a clean and fresh home helps my peace of mind at this time of year.

When I consider it from a glass-half-full perspective I conjure up a cosy hearthside image of friends and family gathered round, exchanging gifts, sharing food and drink; well-behaved pets at our feet and rosy-cheeked children playing quietly with new toys.

When I’m in a more glass-half-empty mood, all I can picture is Edvard Munch’s ‘The Scream’. I see tipsy relatives enthusiastically waving their glasses of red wine around to emphasize a point no one will remember the next day. I see excitable pets running in and out of the house creating abstract artwork with muddy paws, as children with chocolate-smeared faces toddle round with sticky sweets clasped in their little hands.

And breathe.

I love Christmas…really.

I’ve found it’s all about preparation rather than decimation! When people drop by, or you’re hosting the family get together you want your house to be clean and fresh when your guests arrive and easy to fix when the inevitable accidental drip or spill happens.

Hence, my two sure-fire ways of keeping my Christmas cheer in place and not worrying about having to redecorate and re-carpet in the new year are: Clean Living’s Biological Odour and Spot Remover, and its Biological Multi-Purpose Cleaner.

Or, we could also call them ‘the preparation’ and ‘the recovery’.

Pre-visit prep for a healthy, clean and fresh home.

Life is frantic enough on any normal day but we all know it gets particularly bonkers at Christmas. It’s not nicknamed ‘silly season’ for nothing! We don’t want to be adding deep cleaning to the list of things to get done. We also need to make time to sit and methodically pick out all the green triangles from the family pack of Roses chocolates.

Clean Living’s Biological Multi-Purpose Cleaner has been invaluable to me for a speedy spruce up. When you just want a quick wipe round to make sure your surfaces are clean and hygienic, and the house has a nice aroma for when guests arrive, this product is brilliant (I know, I know – there’s that bit of bias).

All you do is spray it directly onto the surface you want to clean then wipe off. There’s no need to rinse and you’re back to the Roses – pronto!

What gives me peace of mind is knowing that there are no chemicals on any of my surfaces. My friends can be sure that their children and pets aren’t accidentally picking up any harmful substances on their hands and paws.

And then there’s the recovery…

When you get to the day after boxing day and it truly looks like there have been ten lords a-leaping and nine ladies dancing on your (new) carpet, and three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge dragging its pear tree through your house, then you know you’re into damage control.

No fear! Clean Living’s Biological Odour and Spot Remover is fast becoming one of my most indispensable cleaning products for getting rid of spills and marks.

3 hard to shift marks that the Biological Odour and Spot Remover made short work of:

  1. Soot (on my new carpet from the fire!)
  2. Red wine
  3. Sticky sauce

I know. I was impressed too. I keep testing on various different scuffs and marks and it hasn’t let me down yet.

It’s as easy to use as any of our other products. All you have to do is spray and leave to air dry to remove odours (you can even use it on pet’s bedding, it’s that safe), or spray and blot with a clean cloth to remove grubby marks from your carpets or upholstery. Its active enzymes and microbes actively munch their way through the organic spots and any nasty odours, leaving a clean and fresh finish.

Order is restored ready for the new year.

Know someone who cares? How about an eco-friendly gift to kick start 2020?

If you’re like me, you’ll love presenting people with a gift that means something to them. It’s all too easy to get caught up buying stocking fillers, wine and chocolate (although very nice in their own right) because it’s less stress. But when you take the time to think about what matters to the person you’re buying for then the gift becomes more meaningful.

So, if you have a person in your life who wants to protect our waterways and our planet by using chemical-free, refillable products, or someone who just loves cool looking packaging, then have I got a great gift idea for you!

The Complete Cleaning Kit from Clean Living!

All the products allow you to clean with a conscience and they look fabulous too.

Hopefully, you’re Christmas will be more ‘A Wonderful Life’ than ‘The Scream’. Whatever you have planned, I wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2020.
